Editoral staff / English translation: Andrew Rajcher, 24 January 2020
All are invited to a discussion on the book “The Last Righteous – Conversations with Poles Who Saved Jews During World War Two”, which will take place on Wednesday 22nd January in the Faktyczny Domu Kultury in Warsaw. The authors, Anna Piątkowska and Katarzyna Pruszkowska-Sokalla, will participate. This is the latest book published by Wydawnictwo ZNAK, under the honorary patronage of POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews.

Journalists Anna Piątkowska and Katarzyna Pruszkowska-Sokalla conducted twenty extraordinary conversations with heroes who, in saving one life, saved the world entire. Only a dozen or so years ago, such conversations would have been impossible. These heroes waited a long time to be able to tell the world what they experienced and how much they risked in order to save the lives of relatives and friends, but also of complete strangers whom they encountered by chance. Often, even their relatives had no idea of what they were doing.

Among others, the book contains the stories of Janina GarbieńIrena Senderska-Rzońca and Józef Walaszczyk.

The event marks the latest book published by Wydawnictwo ZNAK and will take place on Wednesday 22nd January at 7:00pm at the Faktyczny Dom Kultury in Warsaw (12 Gałczyńskiego Street).
