On 25th January 2018, in the Union Congress of the bicameral Mexican parliament (Congreso de la Unión), the official opening was held of the exhibition "They Risked Their Lives – Poles Saving Jews During the Holocaust”, prepared by POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews, in conjunction with the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This is the second time that the exhibition has been displayed in Mexico.

Participants in the opening of the exhibition included the Chairwoman of the Polish-Mexican Friendship Group, Representative Maria Avila, and Paweł Woźny, Chargé d’Affaires of the Polish Embassy in Mexico. Others present included members of parliament, the diplomatic corps, students and members of the local Polish and Jewish communities.

The exhibition was prepared on the basis of a collection of testimonies by the Righteous and by Holocaust Survivors which have been collected, since 2007, as part of "The Polish Righteous – Recalling Forgotten History" project of POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews. Stories of help extended to Jews have been prepared and can be viewed on our website www.sprawiedliwi.org.pl.

To date, the exhibition has been translated into seven languages and has gone on display in many countries around the world. Among the cities it has visited are Chicago, Düsseldorf, El Paso, Havana, Madrid, Melbourne, Sydney, Moscow and Paris. Its first showing in Mexico was on 1st December 2017, in the Tuvia Maizel Museum of the History of Jews and the Holocaust.

The exhibition can be viewed in the Mexican parliament until 9th February 2018.
