Annual JFR luncheon for the Righteous 2018

Mateusz Szczepaniak / English translation: Andrew Rajcher, 19 September 2018
Numerous Righteous Among the Nations gathered at POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews for the annual dinner organised by the Jewish Foundation for the Righteous (JFR). The Foundation financially supports 338 Righteous in 20 countries around the world - 179 of them in Poland. The dinner took place on 16th September and was also attended by Holocaust survivors JFR President Roman Kent and Chairman of POLIN Museum Council Marian Turski.

The Jewish Foundation for the Righteous' (JFR) annual dinner has taken place in Warsaw for the past several years and, once again, with the help of our volunteers, POLIN Museum was, once again, the venue. It was an event to meet and talk with the Righteous, in support of whom the JFR has been active sine 1986.

The dinner was attended by numerous individuals honoured, by the Yad Vashem Institute, with the title of Righteous Among the Nations, together with their families. The Polish Association of the Righteous was represented by its President Anna Bando, Vice-President Józef Walaszczyk and Secretary Irena Senderska-Rzońca. Other guests included the Deputy Israeli Ambassador to Poland Tal Ben-Ari Yaalon, United States Embassy Cultural Attaché Dan Hastings and the Chief Rabbi of Poland Michael Schudrich.
