Stanisław Codogni lived in Brzeżana during the Nazi occupation. He owned a farm and a forge. He had a 23-year-old son, Karol. It was 1943 when Franciszek Bomze, a ghetto escapee, turned up at their door. The family sheltered him at their friends’ home in a nearby village, Raj. They brought him food regularly. They later saved also the following people: Chana Redlich, her 8-year son Szymon, Małka Szetenberrg, and her husband Wewe. Moreover, the Codongis helped to Zula Helman – they procured a fake birth certificate and transported Zula to Lwów.
