Seminar „Contexts of the Holocaust education”

From January 24th to 30th, 2011 at the Galicia Jewish Museum in Kraków (18 Dajwór Street) will be held the second edition of the seminar for teachers „Contexts of the Holocaust education”.

The seminar is aimed at teachers of history, social studies, Polish and cultural studies interested in the Jewish history and culture, who want to widen their knowledge of this subject and receive educational materials.

Each day of the seminar will be focused on one of the sections of the multimedia educational program of the Galicia Jewish Museum“Holocaust. History and Extermination of Jews”.

The seminar will be divided into the following sections: Judaism, Jewish history, anti-Semitism, the Second World War, the Holocaust, the postwar period.

The classes will be conducted by lecturers of the Jewish Studies Department of the Jagiellonian University and employees of the Educational Section of the Galicia Jewish Museum.

The program also includes meetings with representatives of the Kraków Jewish community, trips around the Kazimierz and Podgórze districts, as well as a visit to the Memorial and Museum Auschwitz-Birkenau.
