Righteous Zbigniew Kuszewski died

KD, 16 November 2016
Zbigniew Kuszewski was awarded the Righteous Among the Nations title in 1993.

During the occupation he was hiding the Żeberko couple in his apartment in Warsaw’s Bielany. Adolf and Eugenia, printers for the underground, had escaped the prison at ul. Montelupich in Kraków using the bedsheets supplied by the AK. They were placed under the care of Kuszewski, an open source intelligence agent for the AK, and stayed with him until the Warsaw Uprising.

A graduate of the Gdynia Maritime University and of the Warsaw University of Technology, he settled in Wrocław after the war, working for the Bureau for the Newly Acquired Lands, mainly handling the organization of dockyards and building of ships, ports, and workshops.

He was 98.
