Righteous participated in Passover (Pesach)

Passover, a Jewish holiday, started on Monday, March 29. Hence, a formal Seder dinner, dedicated to the Polish Righteous, was served on Tuesday in the headquarters of the Jewish Community in Warsaw.


The celebration, which took place in Magat Restaurant, was organized and hosted by Etel Szyc, an activist from The Socio-Cultural Association of Jews in Poland (Towarzystwo Społeczno-Kulturalne Żydów w Polsce). Among the guests were Ewa Junczyk Ziomecka, General Consul in New York, and representatives of: Warsaw City Council, the Jewish Community in Warsaw and the Association of “Children of the Holocaust” in Poland. Museum of the History of Polish Jews was represented by Ewa Wierzyńska. The Righteous were the honorary guests.

During Seder, the vice-president of the Polish Association of the Righteous Among the Nations and the representative of Combatants, Stanisław Świerczewski, awarded Etel Szyc with an order, wished her happy Passover on behalf the Righteous and thanked for being invited to the celebrations.
