Polin Webfusion in Kalisz
The students stayed in homes of their peers from the 3rd High School in Kalisz. They came to Kalisz to meet people who remember the Jews of Kalisz and during Holocaust provided aid to Jews.
Polin Webfusion unites high school students from Poland and Israel. Together they uncover the past. From February to May 2009 the students carried out interviews with people who survived Holocaust, as well as rescuers and Righteous Among the Nations. On the basis of the interviews, documents and photos young people created blogs in the net where they shared with others the information collected about individual survivors and rescuers.
While in Kalisz the Polish and Israeli authors of the blogs visited the city and the surroundings and took part in workshops. The second part of this eight-day exchange program will take place in Warsaw.
Young Poles are scheduled to fly to Israel at the turn of August and September where they will be hosted by Hod Haszaron students and their families.
