Film script competition

, 16 November 2016
The Museum of the History of Polish Jews and the Polish Filmmakers Association are announcing a competition for the best short documentary film script about the creation of the Museum of the History of Polish Jews in Warsaw. Submissions will be accepted until February 22nd, 2013.

Submissions must contain scripts for a short documentary film showing the story of the creation of the Museum of Polish Jews against the background of the changes which have taken place in Poland over the last twenty years. The film to be made based on the winning script should present the Museum opened in December 2012 as one of the world’s most important facilities, telling the story not only of the one thousand years of Jewish presence in Poland, but also narrating the history of Poland and Europe through the prism of the part played in it by the Jewish community. The script should depict the activities of the Museum (including the fact that they respond to a growing interest in the culture of the Polish Jews, showing its complexity) as well as the challenges encountered by the creators of the building and the main exhibition.

First prize: 15 thousand zlotys!

Projects should be sent by e-mail to: [email protected] as well as by post to the Polish Filmmakers Association, Public Affairs Section, ul. Krakowskie Przedmieście 7, 00-068 Warsaw, with the annotation “Competition for the best film script”, in five copies.

The winner will be announced on March 15th, 2012.
