Training for Polish Teachers and Educators in Berlin

The Wannsee Conference Hall in Berlin is organising a training course entitled  “The Challenge and Possibility of Teaching the Jewish Holocaust”, which is aimed at Polish teachers and educators.,

The course will take place between 23rd and 28th September 2012. The course will contain numerous lectures and workshops, the aim of which is to exchange experiences in introducing, to young people, topics connected with Nazi politics, anti-Semitism, the Holocaust, plus the role of the perpetrators and witnesses to the Holocaust. One of the topics to be raised will be the attitude of Poles to Jews during the Occupation. The course is intended for educators and teachers of Polish language history and civics. 

Participation in the course is free of charge– the organisers will cover the costs of accommodation, meals and transport within Berlin. Participants will only be required to pay for the travel to Berlin. The course will be in both German and Polish languages. Activities conducted in German will be translated into Polish.

Numbers are limited. Applications to attend will be accepted until 30th July 2012.
