Screening of "The Survivors"

, 16 November 2016
We invite everyone to this year's third screening of “The Survivors”, a film by Joanna Król and Karolina Dzięciołowska from the Museum of the History of Polish Jews. The screening will take place on 27 October in the Museum as a part of the Warsaw Jewish Film Festival. Afterwards, we invite you to take part in a discussion panel with Joanna Król, two protagonists of the film (prof. Shalom Lindenbaum and Jawdiga Rytlowa) and Paweł Smoleński.

“The Survivors”, written and realised by Joanna Król, Karolina Dzięciołowska (Poland 2013, 56 min).

The film follows two Polish Jews who survived the Holocaust. Today they are older people living in Poland and Israel. However, “The Survivors” is not only a story of the Rescued and the Righteous Among the Nations. It is also a tale of heroism that helped create ordinary life, a story that transports us from the tragic times of the 20th century into the modern reality of Israel and Poland. The film was created as a part of a project by the Museum of the History of Polish Jews called “Polish Righteous – Recalling Forgotten History.” The film was produced by the Museum of the History of Polish Jews. It premiered this year in April in the Museum, during the ceremony commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising.
