Stanisława Olewnik lived in Krzemień, near Maków Mazowiecki. During the War, she decided to help the Mławski family who had escaped from the Maków ghetto. In the autumn of 1943, the Mławski family were caught by the Germans. The medal, awarded to the late Stanisława Olewnik, was accepted by Grzegorz Benedykciński, Mayor of Grodzisk Mazowiecki. Yesterday, the Mayor presented the medal to members of her family.
