The Mikołaj Kopernik Secondary School Complex in Kołobrzeg has established cooperation with the Israeli Metrowest High School in Raanana. The first stage will consist of a youth exchange being part of the program “Young journalists/volunteers – a bridge between nations, cultures and generations”.

12 students of 1st and 2nd grades and three teachers will participate in the project. The group will go to Israel in September. Earlier, in mid-July, Israeli youth will visit Poland. The exchange is organized under the honorary patronage of the Kołobrzeg starosta Tomasz Tamborski.

The main goal of the project is to promote the volunteering idea among young people and local communities.

Israeli students and young people from Kołobrzeg will jointly visit the Judisches Museum in Berlin. In Kołobrzeg, the guests will also meet with Leokadia Choińska who was honored with the title “Righteous Among the Nations” by the Yad Vashem Institute for rescuing Jews during the Second World War. As volunteers, they will also conduct an event organized in the city by local students. The program of the Israeli visit also includes a meeting with local authorities.
