The Polish Righteous – Recalling Forgotten History Project at Wrocław Oral History Conference

, 16 November 2016
Our Polish Righteous – Recalling Forgotten History  project was represented at the Different Faces of Oral History academic conference held on 29th-30th May 2014 at Wrocław University. The Conference was organised by the Hatikvah-Hope Student Academic Circle, together with the Karol Maleczyński History Student Academic Circle.

The aim of the conference organisers was to initiate substantive discussion, not only amongst experts, but also amongst new researchers, on the subject of the place and utilisation of oral history within academic research. This issue is not only of interest to historians, but also poses weighty questions for psychologists, sociologists, experts in cultural matters and ethnography.

Numerous institutions gave presentations regarding their use of oral history – the Remembrance and Future Centre, the Wrocław Centre for UNESCO Initiatives, the Yiddish Book Centre, the Kraków Deportation, Expulsion and Relocation Documentation Centre of the Pedagogical University, as well as the Museum of the History of Polish Jews, which was represented by Klara Jackl who, since 2007, has been active within the Polish Righteous – Recalling Forgotten History  project.
