The POLIN Award was first awarded in 2015. It went to Tomasz Pietraszkiewicz who, since 1998, has carried out a number of educational and artistic projects devoted to the heritage of Lublin Jews. In their programs, the Center makes reference to the symbolic and historical significance of its site, the Grodzka Gate, also known as the Jewish Gate, which was once the transition point between the Christian city and the Jewish city, a meeting place of various cultures, traditions and religions.
