AK, 16 November 2016
During the World War II Paweł Roszkowski and his mother Anna Krupa-Roszkowska saved the Jewish family of Kon.

Józef Kon was a shopkeeper from Tomaszów Mazowiecki. In 1941 he fled that place disguised in a German uniform. He didn’t want to go to the ghetto. A pre-wartime friend took him to the Roszkowski family’s house in Jedlnia near Radom. They agreed to hide him. Soon Anna Roszkowska brought Józef Kon’s wife and daughters from the ghetto. They all survived till the liberation in the hiding place at Roszkowski’s house. After the war they got back to Tomaszów. Till his death in 2009 Paweł Roszkowski stayed in contact with Józef’s daughter, Maria Kon.

The institute of Yad Vashem honoured Paweł Roszkowski and his mother with the Righteous Among the Nations title for their courage.
