New “Council to Aid Jews Żegota” Virtual Exhibition
In a concise manner, the exhibition places into the historical context of German-occupied Poland, the attitudes of Poles towards the extermination of Jews, as well as the individual and organisational attempts to save them – above all, the story of the Council to Aid Jews Żegota. The exhibition includes the story of its establishment, the scope of its activities, its structure and profiles of more prominent members. The uniqueness of Żegota is stressed – an organisation arising from the initiative of various groupings of both Poles and Jews, including people representing extreme social and political views.
We encourage all those interested in the subject of saving of Jews during the Holocaust, especially in the history of the Council to Aid Jews Żegota, to view the exhibition. The exhibition also serves as a study aid for teachers and students.
The exhibition is both in Polish and English languages and has been made possible by funding from Norwegian foundations and EOG in Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway.
