Charity Concert for the Righteous and Children of the Holocaust in Wrocław

A charity concert will take place on 8th October at the Pod Białym Bocianem Synagogue in Wrocław in aid of the Children of the Holocaust and the Righteous Among the Nations.

Lisa Gerrard will perform a selection from her newest recording "Diaries of Hope”, by composer Zbigniew Preisner. The CD is due for world release one week later. Among others to perform at the synagogue will be Archie Buchanan from London, together with the orchestra and chorus of Wrocław Philharmonic, conducted by Zbigniew Preisner. During the concert, Jerzy Trela will read excerpts from diaries written during the War and poems by child victims of the Holocaust from Poland. "Diaries of Hope" was inspired with these texts.

Zbigniew Preisner has directed that all profits from the concert go towards caring for the now elderly Children of the Holocaust and the Righteous Among the Nations. This initiative is being undertaken by a committee of the Wrocław Jewish Community Council.

Concert tickets will cost 200 złotych.
