Janina Grabowska, the Righteous who had her 100th birthday on March 15, 2009, was awarded the Commander's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta.

The Order, conferred by the President of the Republic of Poland for heroic actions and exceptional bravery in rescuing the lives of Jews during the Second World War, for outstanding merits in the field of defending human dignity and human rights, was awarded to Mrs. Grabowska by Bożena Opioła, the head of the Social Initiatives Office of the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland.
The ceremony took place at the Veteran Nursing Home in Warsaw, where the honored Jubilarian has been living for the past 12 years.
