In 1942, fourteen-year-old Józef Bonder, and his eighteen-year-old sister Junia, escaped from the Skałat ghetto in the former Tarnopol Province.
They came to the farm owned by the Firuta family in the village called Ostra Mogiła. The farmers hid them until liberation in 1944.
After the war they lost contact. The Firuta family were resettled in the Dolny Śląsk Province. The Bonder siblings emigrated to the USA. Recently, they managed to locate each and to meet.
