Yad Vashem Archive

The archive of the Yad Vashem Institute in Jerusalem, for over 50 years since its establishment, has constituted the largest collection of documents concerning the Holocaust.  The collection contains over 100,000 certificates of rescued persons. This collection contains over 23,788 records concerning the Righteous Among the Nations.

The collected material provides information regarding the history of rescue, the rescuers, those who were rescued and about the process of awarding the title of Righteous Among the Nations.  Over the years, in the garden of the Yad Vashem Institute, trees have been planted by the Righteous and their names have been engraved on the Wall of the Righteous.

We invite you to view a brief film about the activity of Yad Vashem’s Department of the Righteous Among the Nations.
