“They Risked Their Lives…“ Exhibition and screening of “Ocaleni” in Turin

To coincide with the International Day of Remembrance of Holocaust Victims, our exhibition "They Risked Their Lives - Poles Who Saved Jews During the Holocaust" went on show in Turin.  The exhibition was accompanied by an academic seminar and a screening of the film "Ocaleni" ("The Rescued").

The exhibition was created in by the POLIN Museum in partnership with the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The exhibition tells the story of the Righteous Among the Nations - Poles who risked their lives, and the lives of their families, to help persecuted Jews. 

From 27th Jabuary, the exhibition can be viewed at the Palazzo Dal Pozzo della Cisterna, the historical seat of the Turin government. The academic seminar took p[lace on 3rd February together with the screening of "Ocaleni", a film created by Karolina Dzięciołowska and Joanna Król. The central figures of the film are Polish Jews who survived the Holocaust who, today, live in Poland and Israel.

Among those who took part in the event were Klara Jackl and Joanna Król, as well as Prof. Marco Brunazzi, Deputy Director of the Istituto di studi storici „Gaetano Salvemini” di Torino.

The event was organised by the Polish Consulate General in Milan, the City Council, Ognisko Polskie and the Turin Jewish Community Council. The exhibition will remain open until 12th February 2016.
