SUPPLEMENT ABOUT THE RIGHTEOUS IN THE NEXT ISSUE OF “UWAŻAM RZE”
The supplement will feature photos of two collector coins which the National Bank of Poland will issue on 15 March of this year. Their face value will be 20zł and 2zł. The photos will be accompanied by detailed descriptions of the concept behind the coins' design, data related to their technical parameters and other practical pieces of information.
The coins will pay tribute to three families – the Ulms, The Kowalskis and the Baraneks – that gave shelter to Jewish people during the war. All three families were murdered by the Nazi. The magazine's readers will be able to learn more about each of the families' story and see their family photos.
The supplement to “Uważam Rze” will also feature information on the Righteous Among the Nations title and the process of awarding the medals by the Yad Vashem Institute. A list of all Polish Righteous will also be published.
One of the articles will focus on Polish institutions aiming to commemorate the Righteous Among the Nations; it will feature descriptions of the activities carried out by the Ulm Family Museum in Markowa, the “Life for Life” programme of the Institute for National Remembrance, and a detailed account of the “Polish Righteous – Recalling Forgotten History” project of the Museum of the History of Polish Jews.
