On 15 March 2014, the Centre for Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle hosted a commemorative session in remembrance of Major General Dr Jan Kołłątaj-Srzednicki, who served as the head of Centrum Wyszkolenia Sanitarnego (Centre for Military Medical Education) in the years 1930-1939, sat in the Polish Senate and was awarded the title of a Righteous Among the Nations. This year marks the 70th anniversary of his death.

The session was organised by the Association of Artists of the Castle Museum and the Military Hospital in Ujazdów, and was taken under the auspices of Dr Stanisław Karczewski, the Vice Marshal of the Senate of the Republic of Poland.

The event was attended by numerous guests, including many members of Jan Kołłątaj-Srzednicki's family. The meeting was hosted by Dr Ewa Ławicka, the general's cousin. First, a letter from the Vice Marshal of Senate was read; later on, Jan Kołłątaj-Srzednicki's grandson, Jacek Kołłątaj, presented a lecture about the general, presenting his life through his activities as an army man, a doctor, a senator and a grandfather. The event also saw the presentation of a number of previously unpublished family photos of Kołłątaj-Srzednicki.
