Bidding farewell to the Israeli Ambassador at the Nożyk Synagogue

Zvi Rav-Ner, the Ambassador of Israel, will soon end his 5 year-long diplomatic mission in Poland. On Wednesday, July 2, 2014 members of the Jewish Community of Warsaw, Union of Jewish Religious Communities in Poland and the Polish Society of the Righteous Among the Nations bid the Ambassador farewell at the Nożyk Synagogue in Warsaw.

The Ambassador Zvi Rav-Ner said in his speech: “It is extremely important for the Israelis that you are still here, that not all was lost and destroyed, and that you continue the tradition of Jewish life in Poland. There are two places where I felt at home during my stay in Poland: in this very synagogue and among you all – the members of the Righteous society.”

Anna Chipczyńska, chair of the Jewish Community of Warsaw, Michael Schudrich – the Chief Rabbi of Poland, and Piotr Kadlčik – chair of the Union of Jewish Religious Communities in Poland bid the Ambassador an official farewell on behalf of the whole Jewish community of Poland.

The delegates of the Righteous granted the Ambassador – in what turned out to be a very moving ceremony – a title of the Honorary Member of the Polish Society of the Righteous Among the Nations.
