Academic Conference "Jan Karski – witness, emissary, man"

Between 6-8 November 2013, the international multidisciplinary academic conference “Jan Karski – Witness, Emissary, Man” will take place in the “Synagoga” Centre of the Foundation for the Preservation of Jewish Heritage in Zamość. The conference was organised by the Foundation in partnership with the Polish-Jewish Literature Studies Centre at the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin and with the Union of Jewish Communities in Poland. It will be streamed online. The link to the live stream will be made available on the www.fodz.pl website once the conference has commenced.

The conference aims to expand, consolidate and popularise knowledge of the life and activity of Jan Karski, as well as to propagate the knowledge of Karski in the international field.

The conference will be held in Polish and English. The panels will be accompanied by translation provided by an interpreter. Live stream from the conference in both languages will be made available on the websites of the organisers.

The project was brought to life thanks to support from the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland, provided as a part of the “Cooperation in Public Diplomacy 2013” programme.

The deadline for sending abstracts was 31 August 2013.

Honorary patronage over the conference was assumed by Bronisław Komorowski, the President of the Republic of Poland.
