Krakow dedicates the month of August to honor Jan Karski

In Poland, 2014 has been declared the Year of Jan Karski. As part of the commemoration, the Polish History Museum and the Krakow History Museum will hold the Days of Jan Karski in Krakow.

The opening of the exhibition entitled “Jan Karski. A Man of Freedom” will take place on Friday, 1 August, at 06h30 PM at Apteka pod Orłem, Plac Bohaterów Getta 18. The exhibition will be open to the public at Plac Bohaterów Getta until 31 August 2014.

On 30 August 2014 at 05h00 PM, the following films will be displayed at the former factory of Oskar Schindler at ul. Lipowa 4: “Messenger from Poland” and “Unused material shot for Shoah.” The film sessions will be held jointly with a presentation of books on Jan Karski.

The Days of Jan Karski in Krakow will end on 31 August 2014 with a concert of Shofar. The band will perform at the former factory of Oskar Schindler at 06h30 PM. To order tickets, please contact: [email protected].
