A Special Tribute Evening to Polish Righteous
Last Sunday (15.7), dozens of Polish Righteous Among the Nations and their family members took part in a special gala evening, organized by the Jewish Foundation for the Righteous, in order to pay a big respect to those who risked themselves and their families in an attempt to save Jews from death in the hands of the Nazi authorities.

The event counted with the participation of the Israeli Ambassador in Poland, Zvy Rav-Ner, and representatives of the Jewish community in Poland, who expressed their enormous appreciation to the Righteous’ moral and courageous deeds. Together with them, also the Israeli media reported positively about the evening. A reportage in the website of the Israeli newspaper “Ha’aretz” claimed that the event is an evidence of “the huge change that Poland has gone through since the fall of the Communist regime”, and stated it as “the official end of an era” in which Polish Righteous Among the Nations did not get the proper recognition.
