"WE ARE TOGETHER”. WATCH OUR REPORT
“They are very nice and open, and always have smiles on their faces” – this is how Natalia and Magda, high school students from Sokołów Podlaski, talk about their Israeli peers. They met them by taking part in integration workshops organised by the Museum of the History of Polish Jews. We invite you to watch this short feature presenting the “We Are Together” event, one of the initiatives carried out as part of the Museum's educational efforts.
The aim of the programme is to teach Polish and Israeli youth about the Holocaust in an atmosphere of reconciliation and mutual understanding of each other's history. High school students from the Mazovia region and from various parts of Israel come together during integration workshops.
The workshops allow young people to make friends and talk about issues that they find important. It is also a way of challenging any stereotypes connected to the two nations. After the workshops, all high school students take part in a ceremony commemorating Jews murdered in Treblinka and visit the former death camp.
On 25 October 2011, the main theme of the workshops were stories of the Righteous Among the Nations.
