Quotations: the 2nd "Made in POLIN" Festival

Redakcja, 16 November 2016
"Made in POLIN", a three-day festival celebrating the opening of the POLIN Museum's permanent exhibition, began in Warsaw on 21st October 2016.

The central theme for this year's festival i cross-cultural borrowing - what can be quoted, transformed and sometimes appropriated. Quotations, polemics and remixes. That which can be reinterpreted and absorbed. Words, sounds, images, objects and ideas. In popular or high culture, in everyday life and in  art. Humorously and seriously .

Admission to all events is free, but some events require reservations to be made.

The finale of this year's festival will be the "Sounds of Pre-War Zamenhof Street" project. Over six months, volunteers, assisted by experts, have been gathering information relating to the history of important sections of pre-War Jewish Warsaw - places within which the POLIN Museum stands today. The result of their work has become an inspiration for artists who have, for the "Made in POLIN" festival, prepared installations, concerts and other special projects.
