The book, published by the Association „Children of the Holocaust” in Poland with the support of the Róża Luksemburg Foundation is a record of fascinating interviews conducted by young people – from various Polish secondary schools – with people honored with the title “Righteous Among the Nations”. The program “Polish Righteous – Recalling Forgotten History” of the Museum of the History of Polish Jews has made its photo collection accessible for this project.

The interviews included in the publication They knocked at the door… were recorded by students of secondary schools in Poland as part of the project Righteous Among the Nations – the Righteous are among us carried out in 2005 by Center for Citizenship Education.
