Maria Zawadzka, 16 November 2016
Over 40 accounts have already appeared on YouTube, on the channel of the project “Polish Righteous – Recalling Forgotten History”.

Among others, you will find there the account of Prof. Jerzy Szacki

A Jewish woman in her mid-twenties and her 5-year-old daughter came to his house on Miodowa Street. She was in advanced pregnancy. The Szackis introduced her to the neighbors and visitors as a cousin deported from the territories incorporated into the Third Reich. She survived the war at their house and gave birth to a child. In 1946 she emigrated to Palestine.

The channel „Polish Righteous” also presents the story of Teresa Sokołowska. In November 1942 the Germans deported the Jews from Jodłowa. Most of them were shot in the nearby forest, but Małka Fenichel, her 7-year-old son and her 12-year-old niece managed to escape. They were hidden on the farm of Małka’s schoold friend Anna Sambora, mother of the 12-year-old Teresa.

Among other videos available on the channel is also the documentary by Julia Popławska entitled “Polish Righteous”, as well as fragments of the ceremony of awarding medals “Righteous Among the Nations” to 18 people – the ceremony took place on June 14th, 2010.

The project is co-financed by the Ministry of Polish Culture and Heritage
