Jewish traces in the Lublin region – training for teachers
This event was organized by the “Panorama Kultur” Association, the Center “Grodzka Gate – NN Theater” and the Museum of the History of Polish Jews.
During the training were presented “active methods” of working with students, allowing teachers to talk about the history and culture of Polish Jews in an interesting way.
Apart from that, the teachers were presented educational possibilities opened by the Internet portals “Virtual Shtetl” and “Memory of the Place”. The trainers explained to the participants how to create and use multimedia materials in their educational activity connected with the local cultural heritage.
The training is part of the cycle of educational and documentative activity “Jewish traces in the Lublin region”. As part of this cycle will be held: 3 trainings for teachers (November 2010, March 2011, May 2011), presentations and workshops in schools, as well as editing and publishing a guide to the Jewish cultural heritage of the region.
During the training was held the educational workshop “The Righteous Among the Nations – Difficult Memory”, carried out by Dominika Majuk and Milena Migut.
Many other interesting lectures were also organized, among others: “Portrait of the Place” – visit of the exhibition about the Jewish district in Lublin [Joanna Zętar], “Journey to the shtetl with I. B. Singer” [Dominika Majuk, Milena Migut], presentation of the Museum of the History of Polish Jews and of the “Virtual Shtetl” portal, and “Educational possibilities of the Virtual Shtetl portal” – a multimedia workshop.
