The Righteous Tadeusz Potężny passed away
Tadeusz Potężny died in Wałbrzych at the end of May.

He received the title of Righteous among the nations in 2001. His mother, Maria Potężna, was also posthumously recognized as Righteous.
One of the people who owe their life to Mr. Tadeusz, among other rescuers, is Shevah Weiss, former Israeli ambassador in Poland. Before the war, the Weiss family were neighbors with the Potężny family in Borysław.
Mr. Tadeusz helped the hiding people together with his mother and their Ukrainian neighbor, Mrs. Marciszynowa. This lasted for almost four wartime years. Following his mother’s instructions, Mr. Tadeusz supplied the Weiss family with food, newspapers, removing waste and organizing hideouts.
