“Kaddish” dedicated to the Righteous Among the Nations

On 1st September, within the 7th edition of the Jewish Culture Festival “Warsaw of Singer 2010”, a gala concert dedicated to the Memory of Six Million Murdered Jews and the Righteous Among the Nations will take place at All Saints’ Church on Grzybowski Square in Warsaw.

The program of the concert includes: Leonard Bernstein’s Symphony No.3 “Kaddish”, Max Bruch’s “Kol Nidrei” and Krzysztof Penderecki’s “Kaddish”. The following artists will perform: Kelly Nassief – soprano, Samuel Pisar – narrator, Rafał Kwiatkowski – cello solo, Izabela Matula – soprano, Alberto Mizrahi – tenor, Daniel Olbrychski – narrator, Choir of the Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic in Białystok, Warsaw Boys’ Choir, Orchestra Sinfonia Varsovia. The conductors are John Axelrod and Krzysztof Penderecki.

The concert will be broadcast live by TVP Kultura at 19.15. During the broadcast the photos of the Polish Righteous’ faces will be displayed. The photos are derived from the albums issued in 2007, 2008 and 2009 by the Museum of the History of Polish Jews and the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland as part of the project “Polish Righteous – Recalling Forgotten History”.
