THE “EUROPEAN DAY OF THE RIGHTEOUS” INITIATIVE – CONCERTS IN WARSAW AND MILAN
6 March, Milan: Italian pianist Gaetano Liguori will perform in the Teatro Franco Parenti at 4pm. After the concert, there will be a discussion panel, attended by people of culture and politicians, including writer Francesco M. Cataluccio, journalist Ferruccio De Bortoli and politician Gabriel Albertini. The event will also feature film screenings and interviews with the Righteous. Free admission.
30 March, Warsaw: two famous pianists – Janusz Olejniczak and Gaetano Liguori – will perform in the Ballroom of the Royal Castle in Warsaw at 5.30pm. After the concert, we invite you to a reading of fragments of works by Marek Edelman, Vaclav Havel, Primo Levi and Adam Michnik. The event is organised in cooperation with the History Meeting House in Warsaw and the Italian Chamber of Trade and Industry, under the patronage of Gazeta Wyborcza.
The appeal to establish the European Day of the Righteous was signed by, among others, Tadeusz Mazowiecki and Władysław Bartoszewski. The petition can be signed at the website:

Comitato per la Foresta dei Giusti – Gariwo(the Committee for Gardens of the Righteous Worldwide) is an Italian non-profit organisation, which came up with the idea of creating Gradens of the Righteous throughout the World, basing their idea on the garden in the Yad Vashem Institute in Jerusalem.
