A new biography of Oscar Schindler has been released by publishing house Prószyńsk i S-ka. Author of "Oskar Schindler. Prawdziwa historia” (Oscar Schindler - The Real Story") is David M. Crowe, a historian at Elon University in North Carolina, Honorary Chairman of the Association for the Study of Nationalities at Columbia University and a member of the Education Committee of the American Holocaust Museum in Washington.

In his book, David Crowe examines the entirety of this controversial figure's wartime and post-war activity, showing little-known aspects of Oscar Schindler's life. Previously unpublished documents and letters assist the author in creating a complete description of this man's life, as an individual of many faces, with a character full of contradictions. According to many reviewers, the author's efforts in writing a carefully substantiated, detailed and sound biography make David Crowe's work worthy of being called the best ever written about Oscar Schindler.

Oskar Schindler (1908-1974) - an Abwehr collaborator, a member of the Nazi party and anentrepreneur, was honoured by Yad Vashem in 1963 with the title of Righteous Among the Nations for saving Jews during the Holocaust. It is estimated that he saved more than 1,000 individuals.
