Our 2020 Daffodil Camplaign. Join Our Virtual Commemoration!

Redakcja / Editorial staff / English translation: Andrew Rajcher, 19 April 2020
On 19th April, let’s commemorate the 77th anniversary of the outbreak of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising together! This year’s event is exceptional, because the conditions we are facing are exceptional. This year, the streets of Warsaw will not see our wonderful volunteers distributing daffodils – the symbol of remembering the Uprising. In a situation which forces us to maintain social-distancing, we appreciate even more the value of community and human solidarity. From its beginning, our Daffodil Campaign has featured the words – “Memory Connects Us” – let memory connect us again this year although, this year, it must be virtually.

On 19th April, let’s join together under the hash-tag #RememberingTogether.

Our virtual program, commemorating the 77th anniversary of the outbreak of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, will include:

  • a lecture Prof. Jacek Leociak regarding civilian experiences during the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising;
  • a LIVE report of the laying of a wreath, by POLIN Museum Director Zygmunt Stępiński, at the Ghetto Heroes Monument;
  • a walk with Beata Chomątowska entitled “The Ghetto was Here”.
