Inaugural Presentation of Israel Gutman Award and Publication Launch
"This year marks the first time our editorial team is presenting the Israel Gutman Award for the best research paper on the Holocaust and Polish-Jewish relations. We hope that the Award will contribute to the further development of research and will specifically attract specialised publishing houses to further our goal", states the latest issue of the publication. "In this way, we wish to promote the status of this type of research activity. We also hope that this will further increase the number of papers which will feature in our publication”.
The Award presentation and the latest publication edition will take place on 5th December 2016 at 6:00pm at Pałac Staszica, 72 Nowy Świat Street, in the Maria Curie-Skłodowska Hall.
The Award will be presented, on behalf of the editorial team, by the Chief Editor Dr hab. Dariusz Libionka. This year's Award winner, Karolina Panz, will also give a short presentation on her research, about which she wrote in her paper entitled "Why Them, Who Had Suffered and Endured So Much? Jewish Victims of Armed Violence in Podhale 1945-1947”.
The second part of the event will feture a discussion on the newest issue of the annual publication. It will be chaired by Dr. hab. Jerzy Kochanowski and Dr hab. Dariusz Libionka.
During the event, the latest edition plus other publications from the The Polish Center for Holocaust Research will be available for purchase at discounted prices.
